Not just a usual Bank Holiday weekend …
This year is a huge year for us here at Events Collective, however Sheffield Food Festival in particular is a special celebration for not only the people of Sheffield but also the whole nation. Our usual bank holiday weekend has been moved to coincide with Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee which in itself marks an unprecedented occasion of celebrations and solidarity. In addition to this momentous event, we will also be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Sheffield Food Festival throughout the bank holiday weekend on 2nd – 5th June 2022.
Over the years we have seen Sheffield Food Festival evolve and grow into an event which attracts over 50,000 people over the course of the bank holiday. From our chef demo tent to our Eats, Treats and Beats Festival Village we have encouraged an amalgamation of local organisations, traders and artists to create an experience for all to enjoy.
So what to expect this year…
Throughout the years, Sheffield Food Festival continues to showcase a fusion of all things Sheffield. From traditional artisan bakers to the newest street food trader on the block, you will find plenty of food and drink stalls to wander around and feast upon. The return of our Green Village will be an area of education and community involvement. With activities from Heeley City Farm and treats from the ever-growing Food Works plus other sustainably conscious organisations within Sheffield and South Yorkshire. This year we’ll see a collaboration of our chef demo tent and our Eats, Treats and Beats Festival Village which will have visitors enticed throughout the weekend. Prepare to indulge, dance, socialise and learn new culinary skills all at the same time.
There will be plenty to do for all the family this year, from kids crafts to Jubilee activities over the course of the Bank Holiday. We’ll be taking the traditional street party to a whole new level by taking over the City with a vibrant programme including tantalising and innovative cooking demonstrations to electrifying street entertainment.
